MISSION
Our mission is to provide a top-tier youth educational-athletic travel basketball program, serving as a feeder for Marshall Public School. Through our commitment to skill development and character building, we aim to seamlessly integrate our athletes into the school system, contributing to the overall success and unity of the Marshall-Albion communities.
VISION
Strengthen collaborations and community bonds that help foster success for our players and teams on and off the court.
VALUES
PARTNERS
We’re excited to continue our partnership with Lead ‘Em Up, a dynamic and engaging leadership program that’s transforming our entire organization. This year, our commitment to building strong leaders is expanding beyond just our players and coaches.
✅ For Coaches: Lead ‘Em Up provides our coaches with training that helps them develop the leadership skills necessary to guide our teams both on and off the court.
✅ For Players: Our athletes engage in interactive workshops designed to build their leadership abilities, fostering a team environment where everyone supports each other and strives for excellence.
✅ For Parents: New this year, we’re extending the Lead ‘Em Up experience to our parents with a dedicated workshop. This initiative aims to create a unified support system, ensuring that everyone involved in our program is aligned in their commitment to leadership and growth.
Through this comprehensive approach, Lead ‘Em Up is helping us build a culture of leadership that strengthens not just our teams, but our entire community.
We’re excited to announce our partnership with Point Guard College (PGC), a leader in basketball education. PGC will be hosting our Coach Xs and Os clinic, where our coaches will gain valuable insights and strategies to elevate our game. Additionally, PGC will conduct a player clinic, providing our athletes with top-tier training to sharpen their skills and basketball IQ. This partnership underscores our commitment to developing both our coaches and players, ensuring we continue to grow and excel as a team
STRUCTURE
We have 3rd through 8th grade teams. Third grade is our entry level. You must be in 3rd grade to tryout for 3rd grade unless we do not have enough kids to fill a team. At 4th grade level and up we split teams based on skill into A and B teams. Our goal is to have 2 teams (A and B) at each grade for each gender. This is not always possible due to number of players and coaches. We are a travel basketball program, not a recreation program which means we do have cuts. We play in the Red Cedar League. Games are on weekends. The game schedule for the entire season comes out 1 week prior to the start weekend for games. Our 7-8th grade girls teams start games the first weekend in November. 3-6th graders start games the first weekend in December and 7-8th grade boys start the first weekend in January.
ELIGIBILITY
You must live in MPS or Mar Lee school district AND not school of choice to another district with an established Red Cedar League Basketball Program OR You school of choice to MPS
